The pellets - and briquette-firing technology has been already well mastered and is available now to a wider circle of users and, at the same time, it is much cheaper as compared to the mineral fuels and is not put to price fluctuations on the world’s markets as the biomass fuel is a product of domestic origin.
The highly efficient biomass fuel is used for firing by means of specially adjusted and automated central heating boilers whose dimensions are similar to those of a typical central heating boiler. For heating an average-sized detached house approx. 5 t of pellets a year is required. As a result of combustion of 1 tone of pellets approx. 5 kg of ash is produced.

Poland should acquire 7.5 per cent of energy from renewable sources by 2013 and in 2020 it should be as much as 20 per cent – informed Grażyna Gęsicka, the minister of regional development, during the Polish-Swedish conference on Bioenergetics that was held in Warsaw.
